In 1979, Mario Ouellette acquired the Pénélope store, which specialized in the sale of fabrics, it was located on Prince Street in Saint-Constant.

In 1984, he tried the combination of selling sewing machines (White and Husqvarna) with the fabrics. Given the success, he moved to Saint-Pierre Street (small pink house) in Saint-Constant.

In 1991, Georgette Baribeau, who is a professional in the field of Haute Couture, created her sewing school and joined Mario Ouellette.

In 1999, a unique opportunity opens up to them. They join Club Tissus of Saint-Hubert and can therefore expand.

In 2008, a new generation joined the management, Gabriel Ouellette. We are a team dedicated to being at the forefront of new sewing techniques.

In 2010, a new branch in Sherbrooke within the Club Tissus opened its doors due to a great demand from its clientele.

In 2014, Penelope Sewing Machines continues to listen to its customers and distributes the line of Handi Quilter machines and Juki industrial machines. What makes Penelope sewing machines the largest sewing machine center in Quebec.

In 2016, Penelope Sewing Machines is the 2016 winner, the pantheon of excellence, for service and retail business delivered by the Chamber of Commerce.

In 2017, Pénélope sewing machines opened a third branch in Laval, positioning it as a must in the purchase of a sewing machine in Quebec.

In 2019, Penelope Sewing Machines wins the Babylock Samurai Award! We are in the top 10 for sale of sewing machines in North America.

In 2022, Pénélope sewing machines is modernizing her brand with a new simple and colorful logo.
