This Elephant art quilt pattern is more advanced than my beginner's pattern and uses the technique of raw-edge fused separate appliqué.
The finished quilt is 30”x 24” and you can add the border of your choice or frame it as I do. It is full of pictures to help visualize the given instruction.
The pattern is already reversed.
The pattern includes: Five pages of instructions with colour photos
A full-size pattern already reversed and ready for the tracing of the double-sided
interfacing.
Guides for adding seam allowance where needed
I recommend using thin cotton for the cotton backing fabric and Steam-a-Seam interfacing.

Supplies
Fabric A: Linen, Batik, or Grey Cotton (Background) / 32" x 26"
Fabric B: Black fabric (elephant background) / 26 " x 24"
Fabric elephant: Monochromatic fabrics or a variety of colours.
Cotton backing fabric: White or pastel color/ 34" x 28"
Cotton batting: 36" x 30"
Quilt back fabric: Your choice / 38" x 32"
Strait of grain binding: Your choice / 4.30 yards
Iron-on interfacing 12" - 4 yards, "Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 is recommended for its semi-permanent glue needed during placement.
Clear cellophane wrap to aid in pattern pieces layout.
(clear cellophane gift wrap, not cling wrap)
Elephant Thread: Your choice of thin, clear monofilament thread.
Grey background quilting thread: Your choice.
Thread for blue thread painting: Larger thread, wt12.
Optional: Wool or polyester batting for trapunto: 26" x 24".
Water-soluble thread.
Needles: Topstitch 14 for regular quilting.
Topstitch 16 ou18 for thread painting.
Other supplies: 505 adhesive, pale lead pencil, long tweezers, medium sharp
scissors, invisible tape, pins.
